Champions League: What Ramos Told Allegri During Real Madrid’s 3-1 Loss To Juventus

Juventus manager, Massimiliano Allegri, has revealed what suspended Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos told him during their argument over Wednesday’s controversial penalty decision.

Ramos who initially watched from the stands is facing another ban for coming down to the touchline during the match while on suspension.

The Spanish center back was still lurking by the tunnel when Mehdi Benatia was judged to have pushed over Lucas Vazquez, with Cristiano Ronaldo burying the resulting spot-kick to send Real Madrid through.

There was a five-minute delay between the penalty being awarded and Ronaldo hitting the back of the net, and Allegri was seen having an altercation with Ramos in the dugout.

The Italian coach explained their disagreement after the game, saying, “Ramos said the penalty was “claro” [clear] and I told him: ‘Not so claro, let’s say grey.’

“I also told him that in the first leg in the 92nd minute there was a penalty on [Juan] Cuadrado. I only told him that.

“But it’s normal, there has to be some anger and regret because at that point Buffon was also sent off.

“Also, Benatia should have been sent off because he already had one yellow card. So let’s just say there was general confusion overall.”

The Real Madrid’s captain’s presence in the touchline broke UEFA rules which stipulate that a player is not permitted to be in the area during the game or in the immediate aftermath.
